Dames Day Out!! Yes, Please!

Everyone has heard of a Girls Day Out...but when you are feeling a little extra fancy and are in need of a day of total relaxation...Dames Day Out is the way to go!

Shannon and Addie were EXTREMELY lucky that Hilary decided we must take some time for ourselves and was willing to plan that time for us! We were in for such a treat!

After some emailing back and forth a date was determined and then Shannon and Addie received the most delightful email with an itinerary.

You will be picked up at 10:30 on the morning of Saturday, February 6th. From there you will be driven to Taste Café and Marketplace for brunch and giggle water. After a tasty brunch, you will go into the city for a spa facial at No. 7 Salon and Spa (little to no makeup please). Finally, after a leisurely afternoon we will try a trendy pizza joint by the name of Pizzology Craft Pizza & Pub. I’ve tried to keep the meals relatively low priced as none of us are eggs. Be prepared for one heck of a sockdollager.

All bearcats! No bluenoses.

Editor’s note: to fit with the dame theme, I looked up 1920s phrases

Giggle water: liquor, alcoholic beverage

Eggs: a person who leads an absurdly wealthy, extravagant lifestyle

Sockdollager: an event or action of great importance

Bearcat: a lively, spirited woman, possibly with a fiery streak

Bluenose: term for a prude or individual deemed to be a killjoy

With an email like that, we knew we were going to have an AMAZING day...ok, we always have amazing days on our adventures!

This was the first time Hilary and Addie would get facials...and yes we want them again! None of us had ever tried the restaurants, and are HAPPY to report we would go back to both!!

Check out some of our pictures!

Taste Cafe and Marketplace was a delight! You order at the counter...a little overwhelming because the menu is AWESOME and EXTENSIVE! But so delicious...save room for dessert...key lime pie, cheesecake, bread pudding, and lots more!! Need we say more?!?!

Addie got the Four Layer facial, Shannon the Youth, and Hilary the Clear. Pros and Cons to all three but what an experience! Check out their website for more details and to book an appointment. You will not be disappointed.

Next stop...The District Tap...this was unplanned but so great! We shared an appetizer and some yummy beer. Great atmosphere and we would definitely go back.

Then on to dinner. When you walk into a place and your mouth waters, you know you are in for a treat. We were told a 20 minute wait and it was more like 5! This is a cozy place with FANTASTIC pizza...hence the name!! They had local craft beers on tap and a decent wine list. The food was unbelievably good and the menu is changed each season. Can't wait to go back!

So Dames...plan your next day out and tell us how it goes!
