Lasting Memories
This post is to give you our Zoo-de-Mackinac Weekend Top 10. These were ten things we unanimously agreed that will be remembered for years to come. Keep in mind that these are in no particular order because we decided we did not need the stress of ranking the items.
1. Tater Tots at Tap 30 Pourhouse (click here for a picture of totchos; scroll down) and Crack Fries from HopCat in Grand Rapids (they have been featured on Food Network)
2. Registration Angel: Shannon mentioned this gentleman in Part 1 who saved us from a long wait and building anxiety
3. Breakfast Angel: The lady who told us how the delicious Mission Point breakfast buffet worked. We were so glad she did!
4. Breweries: Greenbush Brewing Company in Sawyer, Michgian (I'm partial to the Star Chicken Shotgun) and HopCat in Grand Rapids (see above)
5. Watching the Preakness Stakes at Seabiscuit Cafe on Mackinac Island. The food was delicious and they make horse-shaped sugar cookies!
6. Never again phrases: "ON YOUR LEFT..." and "CAR UP!...CAR BACK!"
7. Petoskey, Michigan. So beautiful!
8. "Dr. Feel Good" the bartender at Mission Point Resort. He makes a delicious beverage.
9. Arch Rock. This is listed as a must see on the island, we happened upon it during our Sunday morning walk.
10. Finishing 51 miles!
